How the system works
It does three things, and none of them needs manual arithmetic.
-
Log the price
The price of each competitor product is logged, and every new change is kept next to the earlier ones. The price history is never lost.
-
Discounts and free goods
Discount rates and free goods are logged separately. The system works like a calculator, so nobody has to do the math by hand.
-
Compare
Everything is stored in the database, so prices can be put side by side to see where a competitor really stands.
Why the price on paper is misleading
Most sales teams keep competitor prices in their heads or in a few scattered files. Each sales rep quotes a number and nobody knows what date it is from.
The bigger problem is discounts and free goods. Two competitors with the same list price end up with two different real prices if one gives ten percent off and the other adds a free carton for every five. Until that is calculated, your comparison is wrong.
Once logging is regular, pricing decisions no longer rest on guesses and hearsay. There is a number in front of you that can be discussed.
Settle these four things before you order
A price monitor is worth as much as the data that goes into it. These four points decide the quality of that data.
Which competitors and products
Do not start with everything. A few main competitors and your best-selling products are enough.
Who enters the prices
Sales reps, one person in the office, or the market research unit. Data quality depends on this.
The calculation method
Tiered discounts, free goods or sales bonuses. Whatever is common in your market has to be in the system's calculator.
Who the report is for
A sales manager wants one thing and a marketing manager another. Decide early who will be looking.
Who this system is for, and who it is not for
I would rather be clear from the start so neither of us wastes time.
It fits if
- You are in a market where competitors keep changing prices and discounts.
- Discounts and free goods are common in your industry.
- You want pricing decisions to rest on numbers.
Skip it if
- You have one or two competitors whose prices change once a year.
- You have nobody to enter prices regularly.
- You expect the system to collect competitor prices from the market by itself. It logs and calculates. Collecting is your team's job.
How I work with you
-
First meeting
In person in Tabriz, or online if you are in another city or country. This is where I learn what you need and how the work gets done today.
-
Design on paper
We settle the sections and the details together. No code gets written until this step is finished.
-
Custom build
I build the system from scratch in PHP so it fits the way you already work.
-
Delivery and support
After delivery, support follows the contract we sign. Its terms are clear before the work starts.
Questions people usually ask
Does the system collect prices from the internet automatically?
No. The version I built is for a market where people have to bring prices and free goods deals in from the field. The system logs, calculates and stores.
Is it only for consumer goods?
No. Wherever there are prices, discounts and sales bonuses, the same logic applies. The calculation method is set up for your own industry.
How much does it cost?
There is no fixed number because it depends on the sections and features you need. After the first meeting I give you an exact estimate.
Do you work with clients outside Tabriz?
Yes. For other cities and other countries we meet online.
Are we on our own after delivery?
No. Support continues under the contract, and we agree on its terms before the work starts.
